I joined Goodreads at the end of last year and forgot to mention it on here. If you’re unfamiliar with the site, Goodreads is essentially a social media site for book lovers–you can track your own reading and share book lists with friends. It also allows you to rate and review what you have read along with following your favorite authors to avoid missing any of their work!

A few other sites have added the ability to follow authors within the last few years: Amazon has a yellow +Follow bar under the author’s profile picture on the author page (here’s mine), and Smashwords offers the option of Subscribing to Author Alerts on the left side of author’s profile page (here’s mine). Of course, there’s always traditional social media as well–I’m on Facebook and Twitter–and you can follow individual websites (on my site it’s under Recent Releases on the right).
